When I started this one out, my thought was to try and turn the old Pitch Dandelion into a more organic form. Loose the metal, make it breathe.
And it turned out to be an accessible way to do it. It grew as I moved along; membranes, muscles attached to the 'lung', tissue, among other things...
I kept the canvas quite clean, and I've kept focus on the form, though ligther than the original. All done in Photoshop.

hmm. well for starters this is one of the most original pieces ive seen in quite a while. you seem to have approached this piece with quite a bit of preperation beforehand and it really shows in the final product. very elegant and sophisticated and mature. the composition is interesting and balanced. the line effect is well executed which makes for a very successful bit of visual texture. .. in short this is a gorgeous piece of artwork. ill bet it looks incredible in print. great work.

beautiful work here john. the colors are great, the slight reds really just work very well. The line work is amazing as well, ive been *trying* to do more of that style in Illustrator myself but not with great sucesss ;)

I hope there will be more of this style in the future....

inte nog med att du va tvungen att slä ppa en av de mer originella bilderna på lä nge (stiligt värre ska jag säga) så drog du till med farbror frej också... hehe, vad mer kan man begära :)
